In ye olden days, AP or UPI newswire teletypes would spit out a constant stream of paper in newsrooms. Editors or reporters would have to periodically use rulers to tear apart the continuous spool of paper into individual stories. These stories would be sorted into baskets or hooks on the wall. This was called "stripping the wire". In the same way, this blog will attempt to sort through relevant content on the internet to identify and "strip out" items of interest for my students.

These tips were great. As a journalism minor student, I read newspapers and books all the time, anything that I can get my hands on. I've always been that way. People used to make fun of me for reading so much. However, once you broaden your horizons, your creativity and perceptions change and expand. Her advise is inspiring and honest.
Any type of advice is good advice especially in the firld of radio and television, all I will do is write, and these tips helps me become a stellar writer!
I think all of these tips were helpful, especially the one about chasing what you want. In almost any major, especially ones dealing with the media, it's important that you not be lazy. Nothing is going to come to you just because your name is 'John Smith.' Get up off that thang! LOL
These tips were helpful, but whoever left comment 15 was a bit harsh, and kinda funny! But yes, the tips are definitely things everyone needs to remember when they are writing!
It's always helpful to get tips for those who have lived and experience the same career we are pursuing. I know that we will make our own mistakes and learn from our own experiences, but it's always comforting to have a little bit of help from others.
