In ye olden days, AP or UPI newswire teletypes would spit out a constant stream of paper in newsrooms. Editors or reporters would have to periodically use rulers to tear apart the continuous spool of paper into individual stories. These stories would be sorted into baskets or hooks on the wall. This was called "stripping the wire". In the same way, this blog will attempt to sort through relevant content on the internet to identify and "strip out" items of interest for my students.

I bet it's weird to be in a studio with no crew and just cameras moving by themselves around you. What a lonely and boring job that can be not having the opportunity to interact with others.

I don't think I would enjoy my job if I didn't have a crew behind me. Not having anybody around takes that fun out of everything!

I know it is a recession right now but ABC needs to get the crew back because that is what makes up the news team. I wouldn't like to just work by myself and besides you can get a lot more info with more then just one person on the sence.
