Is It Any of Our Business?

The news about Cindy Palin's pregnant daughter is re-igniting discussion about what is fair game for reporters and bloggers...and what is not. Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass has a strong opinion. What do you think?

No personal issues like this should not be included in debates/politcs. A pregeant teen daughter does not affect how Senator Pallin will assist in leading the country.

The issue of her teen daughter being pregnant has nothing to do with her capabilities as a future vice president, which is the real issue at hand. This is a family matter and should remain one.

I find it funny how people are so quick to point the finger or find something negative in another being. We are so caught up in finding faults in others we sometimes lose focus on what is truly important. In this case, I am referring to the best candidate for VP of he United States.

Senator Palin's daughter getting pregnant at seventeen in no way is a reflection or, indication of how Palin will perform if elected as the future U.S Vice President.

In fact, you would be surprised at how different people can be in a professional setting, as opposed to when they are just at home with family and loved ones. Thus, how one balances the two is a true test of how strong they can be. Hence, her abilities should be based solely on what she has done throughout her career, and what she can bring to the table.

Some people say... 'but we don't know her'. I say, 'she is not her daughter, and her daughter is not her'. If anything she resembles a good number of mothers in America who have young daughters getting pregnant everyday. If you can still respect those mothers, then you should respect Senator Palin regardless. At least she is standing by her daughter. Instead, use this information as a tool to relate to the Republican VP nominee, and just view her as 'normal'. Like 'you' and 'me'.

To conclude, this issue is no one's business but the Palin family's alone. Life changing events can happen to anyone. For some, much sooner than later. What makes the difference is how you DEAL WITH IT!

Get a life. Who cares about her family. I care about keeping Govenor Sarah Palin out of the White House.

I do not care that her daughter is pregnant and neither should any body else. This should not affect how Senator Pallin would perform as future vice president. No one has a perfect family so people should get over it and focus on how well she would be if she was the future vice president.

I agree with the rest of my classmates in that Bristol Palin's pregnancy is a private matter and should not be discussed or included in politics. Bristol Palin is her own person and like all of us makes her own decisions. The choices she has made in her life do not reflect those of Sarah Palin. However, I do think the situation in itself is quite ironic seeing how Sarah Palin supports abstinence only sexual education.

I do not feel that anyone but the Palin/Johnston family should be involved in this. Teenage pregnancy happens all over the country, in this case it happened to be the daughter of the Republican candidate for VP. This issue should not effect her in her duties as a Senator or a potential VP.

I find it quite ridiculous to see that blogger tell Palin what was the truth about her child, Trig. That person has no proof of anything, but still goes out on a limb and tells a false statement.

The issue of her daughter is irrelevant to the presidential race taking place. Are the American people going to get voting for her daughter? Should her daughter's personal life affect voters' decisions? I don't think so.

Leave the kids out of it!! Attack Palin, her work, beliefs, attitudes, etc. I want to hear about things that are relevant to the politics and this country. I'd rather have a V.P whose daughter was a promiscuious crack-head, than a V.P. who embezzled money, lied to the public, etc. Tell me something that matters dammit!!!
